Keep store handovers from getting lost in chat

A message can start a conversation. The work record should show what happened, where, when and who will finish the next step.

Choose the record before the channel

For stock received, record the delivery against the relevant receiving workflow. For cash moved, record the transfer in the appropriate cash workflow. Keep the message as a pointer to that record, rather than a second version of the quantity or amount.

Agree a minimum handover

Use the store, task, responsible person, status and supporting reference as a practical starting checklist. For example, “delivery received” is incomplete if the next person still needs to discover which items were missing. Distinguish a request from completed work.

Make the next shift able to continue

Before handing over, check unfinished tasks and name the person who will act. Keep the relevant records available to that role. Storebase brings these work areas into one place; a consistent recording habit is what makes the handover useful.
